P is for PLAYGROUND
Trying to break up a long week, Henry decided to go the playground area at the mall. He thoroughly enjoyed being the youngest one able to get around. These pictures will make him seem like he is playing alone, but I was trying to protect the identities of the other kids and cut most of them out of the pictures. He actually had a pack of rough-and-tumble boys that hung around him; I think they thought he was more like a pet than another kid. But Henry sure does love to PLAY!

P is for PUMPKINS
Brace yourselves, there are lot of pictures I plan to put on this page, if they all fit. We went to the Hall Pumpkin Farm this weekend with YaYa and PawPaw. Henry was in pre-nap mode, so most of his adorable cuteness is tempered with a sullen pout. In fact, pretty much 99% of the pictures are identical in facial pose, but we still think he looks cute...

O is for ORDINANCE (of Baptism)
Henry Graves B. was baptized in our home church, Sunday, October 30, 2011. And he behaved.
Some of you might be wondering why we chose Infant Baptism, as we have a strong Baptist background. We have joined a Presbyterian church in our area and it is their practice. After reviewing the scriptural basis for this ordinance, we wholeheartedly participated. The sign and seal of circumcision was given to Abraham and his household; likewise, the conversion from circumcision to baptism by water in the New Testament symbolizes the sign and seal of God's blessings on a believer and his household. It does not "save" the child; it stands as a representation of the sign and seal that God's blessings are waiting for that child when he learns and accepts Jesus as Savior, and that he will be raised in the knowledge of these blessings and promises. There is still the controversy (too harsh?) of immersion versus sprinkling, but that is a debate for another day. Both Shaw and KK have been immersed and would not stand in the way if Henry wishes the same when he makes his decision. We celebrated this day as best we could, joined by PawPaw and YaYa, and rejoiced that Henry is part of our household and family. We are happy to discuss this with any of you who might be interested.
But I am revealing it here first, Henry has officially outgrown that outfit! As a gift from a friend, we dearly wanted him to wear it, and I'm glad it didn't split during the service! What a big boy!

N is for NURSERY
Backfilling the letter N finally. One GINORMOUS year later than I should have. Now "N" will appear out of order, and that will probably bother me more than it should. His room is not really finished, as the walls are scary-bare. I'll just say they are waiting for someone's finger paintings and chalk drawings to hang...
